Fashion Week Reportage

My name is Adrian Molina and I’m an analog photographer based in Copenhagen. Key word there is analog - I don’t even own a digital camera, because shooting film is what keeps photography exciting for me. This might be the only constant in my work. Driven by a childlike curiosity, I get to experiment taking photos in many different settings. Photography is like a huge playground where I get to play with other kids and try all kinds of games. So instead of always playing the same game, I keep trying new stuff whenever I get the chance.

For example, about a year ago, a friend asked if I was down to take street style photos at Copenhagen Fashion Week just for fun. At the time, I wasn’t particularly interested in fashion photography, but I said yes, curious about how this world might look through my lens, and shot a couple rolls throughout the afternoon. The main triggers that make me press the shutter are interesting moments and beauty, and there were plenty of both on the streets that day.

I got the rolls developed within a day (thanks to Shutterbug), and was surprised to see that I got some interesting imagery, very different from the rest of the photos I saw from the week.

Fast forward a year, and that spontaneous afternoon has led, amongst other opportunities, to three collaborations with Vogue Scandinavia. In these gigs, I have gotten to document fashion weeks in Copenhagen and Paris entirely on film, with complete creative freedom to shoot whatever and however I please.

Brands often favor sharp, colorful, high-definition imagery, but I chose a different route. For the last collaboration with Vogue, I shot a lot of black-and-white film and leaned into blurriness and abstraction. I wanted to convey the fast-paced, chaotic energy of fashion weeks—moments that feel more like fleeting memories or vivid dreams than neatly packaged realities. The result is a series of images that tell a raw, authentic story, one that embraces imperfection as a form of artistry.

Here’s a collection of some of my favorite images from Copenhagen Fashion Week AW25 in January 2025.
